Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we understand and interact with the world. It mimics human intelligence to solve complex problems, make predictions, and automate processes. From analysing massive datasets to recognizing patterns and optimizing systems, AI is at the forefront of scientific and technological advancement. In the context of physics, AI enables smarter simulations, more accurate measurements, and deeper insights into the fundamental laws of nature.
This introductory course, AI in Physics, is designed to bridge the gap between experimental physics and cutting-edge AI technologies. Students will explore how AI tools like machine learning and neural networks can be used to solve real-world physics problems. The course includes interactive sessions, practical applications, and hands-on lab activities, enabling participants to apply AI techniques in prominent areas in Physics.

Course syllabus
Dr. V. Sankaran received his Ph.D. Degree from Anna University in 1986 in the areas of Computer Networks. He worked as Professor from 1986 to 1995 in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in a few colleges like Sri Venkateswara, SRM and Sathyabama, Chennai. Also, he worked as Dean at VIT for an year in the year 2014. He is a guest faculty for IIIT Design and Development, Chennai.
He moved to IT industry in 1995 and worked as Project Manager, Delivery Manager, Program Manager and Director in companies like L-Cube Innovative Solutions, HCL Technologies, Packet Island and BroadSoft.
His IT industry experience is over 30+ years and his strength are in the areas of Computer Networks, Security, UI Technology, Linux Kernel Programming, Device Drivers and Data Engineering.
Manual is framed as self-practice by students with necessary wiring diagrams.
Manual starts with a Quick Overview of the Trainer System, describing the various functional blocks, and their locations.
Sufficient background Theory is given for better understanding.
Measurement tables are given with theoretical values to verify practical results.
Plots are given for quick analysis as well as the conclusion.
Wherever required, experiments are provided with numerical problems to understand the theory well.

The range of topics covered, start from electricity basics, electrical circuits, test and measuring instruments, electronic components, semiconductor devices, transistor circuits, Analog Circuits, digital electronics, Solar photovoltaic as a renewable energy source, Input-Output devices, sensors and actuators till the embedded controller using Arduino UNO. Last two topics are devoted to the application-based exercises as relevant for use in our day-to-day life.
