Fellowships are awarded to students to enhance their skills and support their research endeavors.
These grants are available to graduates, postgraduates, and PhD and post-doctoral candidates who meet the specified criteria.

Objective

The objective of providing fellowships is to invest in individuals who show promise, potential, and dedication, with the goal of advancing knowledge, promoting positive change, and enriching society in various meaningful ways.

  • Selection Process

  • The candidate is expected to prepare a proposal in the specified format and submit it to IITM Pravartak during the call for proposals.
  • The selection process for fellowship programs will be conducted based on predefined criteria, which may include academic achievements, research proposals, interviews, and/or recommendations.
  • IITM Pravartak will ensure a fair and transparent selection process, with clear guidelines and evaluation criteria provided to all applicants. The final selection of fellows will be made by a designated committee or authority within the organization.
  • Once the details are evaluated and shortlisted by the committee, the candidate will be offered the position of IITM Pravartak fellow.
  • Fellowship grants are provided to support the fellows' research, academic pursuits, or professional development.
  • The duration of the fellowship program will be one year, unless otherwise specified.
  • Fellows are expected to actively engage in the research, academic, or professional activities outlined in their fellowship program.
  • Fellows shall adhere to the policies, procedures, and ethical standards set by the organization and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Fellows may be required to provide periodic progress reports or participate in evaluations to assess their performance and progress.
  • Fellows shall maintain confidentiality and protect any intellectual property or sensitive information they may have access to during the fellowship program.
  • The recipient must acknowledge IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation in their publications and their thesis and submit a copy to IITM Pravartak.
  • Graduate Candidates are eligible for a maximum fellowship grant of up to Rs. 6,000 per month for a duration of one year.
  • Post Graduate Candidates are eligible for a maximum fellowship grant of up to Rs. 25,000 per month for a duration of one year.
  • Doctorate Candidates are eligible for a maximum fellowship grant of Rs. 37,000/- per month for the first 2 years and Rs. 42,000/- per month from 3rd year for a duration of one year, subject to the approving professor's discretion.
  • Post Doctorate Candidates are eligible for a fellowship grant of up to Rs. 55,000 per month for a duration of one year.
  • Patents & Licensing

  • All Patents and Technology Ideas will be jointly owned by IITM Pravartak and inventors.
  • IITM Pravartak will cover expedition costs.
  • Decisions regarding PCT and national costs will be covered by Pravartak.
  • IITM Pravartak will license the IP/technology to startups, if any whenever they are formed by the inventor. An exclusive License option will be made available to the startup subject to meeting the Terms and Conditions of IITM Pravartak at the time of filing of patents.
  • Graduates
    1. Applicants should be in their final year of B.Tech/Dual Degree.
    2. Applicants should have a minimum CGPA of 6 or its equivalent.
    3. Applicants must have successfully cleared all courses without any arrears in their academic history.
    4. Candidates with a parental salary package of less than Rs. 10.00 LPA will be given priority.
    5. The chosen candidate must provide their mark sheets, demonstrating no pending arrears, along with proof of parental income.
  • Post Graduates
    1. Successful completion of undergraduate coursework without any pending arrears.
    2. Applicants must be currently enrolled in their third semester.
    3. Applicants should have a minimum CGPA of 7 or its equivalent is required.
    4. No arrears in the first and second semesters.
    5. Candidates with a parental salary package of less than Rs. 10.00 LPA will be given priority.
    6. The chosen candidate must provide their mark sheets, demonstrating no pending arrears, along with proof of parental income.
  • Doctoral
    1. Successful completion of PG coursework without any pending arrears.
    2. Must have cleared the comprehensive examination.
    3. Candidates with a parental salary package of less than Rs. 10.00 LPA will be given priority.
    4. The chosen candidate must provide their mark sheets, demonstrating no pending arrears, along with proof of parental income.
  • Post Doctoral
    1. Must have successfully completed PhD from a recognized university.
    2. Candidates with Patents will be given preference.
    3. Candidates with a parental salary package of less than Rs. 10.00 LPA will be given priority.
    4. The chosen candidate must provide their mark sheets, demonstrating no pending arrears, along with proof of parental income.
  • Responsibility

  • Fellows are responsible for fulfilling the obligations outlined in their fellowship program, including regular reporting, participation in required activities, and adherence to ethical guidelines.
  • Fellows are also responsible for managing the fellowship grant in a responsible manner and utilizing it for the intended purposes.
  • Note: The Recipient's Name with photograph and the program he/she is pursuing will be made available in the IITM Pravartak Website (https://www.iitmpravartak.org.in/) with the link to their personal webpages if available.
