The research centre established from the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, under the “Science & Heritage Research Initiatives (SHRI)” Programme and executed by the IITM Pravartak, IIT Madras, Nisargayatri Sanstha, Ratnagiri, IIT Hyderabad and JNU Delhi. The event was inaugurated by the renowned rock art expert Dr. V. H. Sonawane (former HOD of the Department of Archaeology, MSU Baroda) along with Dr. Arun Menon, IIT Madras, and Dr. M. J. Shankar Raman, CEO, @iitmpravartak.
