Technology Information Forecasting And Assessment Council

The Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) launched the TIFAC Tele-Digital Health Pilot Programme at Banaras Hindu University. IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation and CDAC Mohali are the implementation partners. The programme was inaugurated by the union minister of science and technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh. About 60,000 patients would be covered in three districts —Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Kamjong in Manipur with respective outreach academic partners -Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University in Gorakhpur, BHU in Varanasi and NIT, Manipur. The key activities under the programme include examination of the patients with wearable devices, transferring the health data record through the E-sanjeevani cloud to a pool of doctors for analysis. The parameters covered include electrocardiographic examination (heart check-up), heart rate measurement, blood pressure measurement, body temperature measurement, blood oxygenation measurement, lipid profile, hemoglobin and Mother and child care (fetal doppler). The aim is to provide quality medical care to the under privileged women and children living in remote areas at affordable costs. The pioneering project aims to demonstrate efficacy of applying cutting edge Tele diagnostic technologies in reaching out to people living in such areas with quality medical care. Through this technological outreach mechanism, people living in such areas would have access to medical care of such quality which hitherto they were unable to get.
